You must be able to read a number plate from 20m. As a rough guide if you can read a number plate from 25 paces then your probably alright.  If this is a struggle, you should visit an optician.   If you need glasses or contact lenses to do this, then you must wear them when driving.

Please read on if your interested in driving lessons for yourself or someone else.

Before you can take lessons you must have a provisional driving licence.   You can apply online at the DVLA website by clicking below.

You can apply up to 3 months before your 17th birthday. There is guidance about health and anything you must tell them.  If unsure ask your GP.

Goals for driving? Apply for your licence

It is a good idea to take time to write down your own reasons for learning to drive.  Also, what you think and  feel about learning to drive.

Your driving course of lessons will be structured to achieve your goals.
